A Devotion for Children
The Man with No Friends
Jesus is our friend. He calls Zaccheus who is not the best or the biggest in the crowd and he chooses him to be his friend. He asks to stay at his house. There are people around us who watch from outside because they feel inadequate to be our friends. God wants us to call them to join our group, to be on our team and to share our table. God wants us to include those who we may not think are good or strong enough. A person is not defined by their size, appearance, or past decisions. Each day is a new opportunity to invite someone in.
I know I worry too much about what others may think if I invite certain people into my life. Help me to see others as You see them and to include everyone.
19:6—“And he came down quickly and received him with joy.”
